St. Mary the Virgin w St. John Church
The church, which was originally built around the year 1300, underwent significant transformations due to the influence of the Spencer family from nearby Althorp. Sir John Spencer, who passed away in 1522, was instrumental in these changes. He not only reconstructed the chancel but also initiated the construction of the funerary chapel located next to it. In the 1840s, Edward Bloor further contributed to the development of both the church and the chapel.
