St Lawrence

St. Lawrence's Church, a Grade I listed building, boasts a rich history that dates back to the late 12th century. This historic structure has undergone several significant transformations over the centuries. The original building was reconstructed in the late 13th century following a destructive raid by the Scots. The church was later restored in the 16th century under the patronage of Lady Anne Clifford, a notable figure of the time. This was followed by two significant rounds of internal remodelling in the 19th century, which further enhanced the church's architectural beauty and historical significance. Despite these changes, St. Lawrence's Church has retained its original charm and continues to be a symbol of the area's rich cultural heritage.
