Constructed under the directive of Anthony Catesby (1500-1554), a prominent figure from the renowned Northamptonshire Catholic family, this structure holds significant historical value. The Catesby family, whose primary residence was in Ashby St Ledger, later gained notoriety for their participation in the infamous Gunpowder Plot.
