Ace Centre
The ACE Centre, a state-of-the-art community arts hub, was inaugurated in Nelson in June 2009, thanks to the efforts of the local council. This modern facility, situated at the intersection of Cross Street and Russell Street, stands on a site that was once home to a non-conformist chapel and a Salvation Army Citadel. The Centre's programming policy is diverse, encompassing a wide range of artistic disciplines including music, comedy, film, and theatre. In addition to these, the Centre also serves as a community space, hosting a variety of activities such as gallery exhibitions and classes. Moreover, it boasts a custom-built recording studio, further enhancing its appeal as a comprehensive arts and community centre.
