Tintype
Tintype is a gallery that not only showcases art but also aids in the development of emerging artists both critically and commercially. Each year, we provide a unique opportunity for a recent art school graduate to exhibit their work in a solo show. This initiative is part of our commitment to nurturing new talent and fostering the next generation of artists. The gallery was established in 2010 by Teresa Grimes and Pat Treasure. The name 'Tintype' is derived from a specific type of photograph, which is produced by creating a direct positive on a blackened sheet of metal. This process involves painting, lacquering, or enamelling the metal to achieve the desired effect. At Tintype, we are passionate about art and dedicated to supporting emerging artists as they embark on their professional journey. We believe in the power of art to inspire, challenge, and provoke, and we are proud to play a role in bringing new voices and visions to the forefront of the art world.
