Lincoln New Theatre Royal
The New Theatre Royal Lincoln, located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, is a historic venue with a rich past. The current structure, originally named the New Theatre Royal, was constructed in 1893. The architects behind this project were Bertie Crewe and W.G.R. Sprague, who designed the theatre with a unique blend of style and functionality. This new construction was necessitated by a devastating explosion and fire in 1892, which completely destroyed the original Theatre Royal that had stood on the site since 1806. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the New Theatre Royal Lincoln rose from the ashes, continuing the legacy of its predecessor and serving as a cultural hub for the community.
