Glasgow Film Theatre
The Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT), located on Rose Street near Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, is a distinguished independent cinema. The theatre is housed in a 'B' listed modernist European building, showcasing a post art deco interior. The architectural design of this impressive structure is the work of James McKissack and W J Anderson, two renowned Glaswegian architects. Their design was inspired by the Dutch Modernist architect, Willem Marinus Dudok. In 1968, the current lobby was thoughtfully designed by the esteemed architectural firm, Gillespie, Kidd + Coia. This unique combination of architectural influences and design elements makes the GFT a standout cultural landmark in Glasgow.
