Unity Theatre
The Unity Theatre movement, a politically left-leaning initiative, was established in the 1930s with the aim of producing work that resonated with the working-class audience. During this time, the Merseyside Left Theatre was formed, which later transitioned into the Merseyside Unity Theatre in 1944. In 1980, the Merseyside Unity Theatre relocated to a former synagogue on Hope Place, which is its current location. Over time, it evolved into the present-day Unity Theatre, continuing its legacy of producing meaningful and impactful work.
