The Royal Oak
The pub, despite being situated on Lake Road, is misleadingly marked by a street sign on the front wall that reads Hexton Hill Road. The establishment offers four moorings and a slipway for patrons' convenience. For those who enjoy a smoke, a heated and covered area is provided. The pub is family-friendly, allowing supervised children to partake in fishing activities. In addition, BBQ events are organized during favorable weather conditions. The pub has recently come under new management. The new proprietors, Donna and Lee, are the same couple who successfully run the Fisherman's Arms in Barbican. The day-to-day operations of the pub are managed by Lee's sister, Clare, while Lee himself takes charge of the kitchen. Patrons can usually expect a selection of two real ales at any given time.
