Newark Town Hall Museum and Art Gallery
The town hall, a Grade 1 listed building, was crafted in 1776 by John Carr of York. It continues to function as a town hall while also accommodating a museum, an art gallery, and a temporary exhibition area known as the Spotlight Gallery. Visitors can also explore several other rooms, including the sophisticated Assembly Room from the 18th century, the Council Chamber, and the Mayor's Parlour, which features civic plate dating back to the 17th century. This historic building not only serves its civic duties but also provides a cultural hub for the community.
