The One
In December 2010, the former White House pub was acquired by restaurateur Raymond Chu. Today, it offers an impressive blend of Asian and English cuisine in its restaurant. The establishment has a rich history, originally constructed in 1850 as a toll house for the western entrance to Oxford. It transitioned into a pub, known as the Old Gate House, in 1868 when the toll house was relocated to the intersection with Binsey Lane. While the bar has ceased serving real ale, it continues to offer bottled and keg beer. Additionally, patrons can enjoy an outdoor seating area located at the back of the property.
