The Terrace
The venue, previously known as the Turks Head, is now exclusively open for private bookings and does not maintain regular opening hours. It features a neat, L-shaped bar and has a simple yet appealing aesthetic. The venue is steeped in local lore, including a rumor of a ghostly presence believed to be a former landlady, Nellie Carrigill, who tragically lost her life in an accident involving a falling barrel. The establishment has undergone a refurbishment and previously functioned as a weekend music bar. It is currently under the same ownership as the West Riding Refreshment Rooms. The venue has a dedicated following of enthusiastic patrons who appreciate its unique charm and history. While Real Ales are not consistently on offer, they can be made available upon request for those who choose to hire the venue for private events. This flexibility allows for a tailored experience to meet the specific needs and preferences of each individual booking.
