Centurion Bar And C C Hudsons Delicatessen
Constructed in 1893, the John Dobson-designed lounge was initially intended as a luxurious waiting area for first-class passengers, boasting an impressive feature of exquisite tiling now valued at £3.8 million. However, it was repurposed in the 1960s when the Transport Police used it as holding cells. After undergoing restoration, the lounge's grand interior has been revived and is now appreciated by a multitude of customers, locals, and tourists visiting Newcastle. It has also become a favored starting point for the Whistle Stops II real ale outings. Additionally, a deli has been established next door, adding to the appeal of the location.
