Sophie's
Sophie's restaurant & bar, which opened in late November 2017, is located on the site of the former Moulin Cinema, reputed to be among London's oldest. The cinema was renowned in the 1960s and 1970s for screening risqué films and the popular Carry On series. Before becoming Sophie's, the venue was known as Sugar Reef (Urbium) and Grace. Sophie's, which also has a branch in Chelsea, is more than just a restaurant and bar. The venue boasts an on-site butchery and an open kitchen, adding a unique touch to the dining experience. It operates as an all-day restaurant, offering a variety of dining options to cater to different tastes and preferences. In addition to the main restaurant, the venue features a separate steakhouse for meat lovers. For those who enjoy a good drink, there is a cocktail bar, while a takeaway kiosk caters to customers on the go. All these facilities are set within the beautifully renovated cinema, providing a unique blend of history and modern dining.
