Maltons Gastropub, formerly known as the Sow and Pigs pub, underwent a significant transformation after its closure in August 2017. There were rumors of a celebrity chef expressing interest in the venue, but it remained closed until December 2018. Upon reopening, the establishment had shed its traditional country pub aesthetic in favor of a more contemporary, sleek design. The bar area has been repurposed into a welcoming reception area for diners, reflecting the shift from a traditional pub to a more restaurant-oriented establishment. The revamped Maltons Gastropub now presents a distinctly modern dining experience, a departure from its previous incarnation as a classic pub.
