Old Tailors
In October 2022, a chic micro-bar named after Albert Ranshaw's tailors, which operated from 1888 to 1920, was launched in the same location that was most recently a record shop. The bar, aptly named after its historical predecessor, boasts a stylish and minimalist interior design. The walls are painted a soothing pale green, and the space features a robust wooden counter, a few small tables, and a couple of shelves, one of which interestingly displays a sewing machine, a nod to the location's past. The bar caters to serious beer enthusiasts, with Beavertown Neck Oil being a top recommendation, although it's worth noting that it's priced slightly higher than the average Barnsley fare. In addition to its unique ambiance and quality beer selection, the bar also plans to host quiz and theme nights, promising a fun and engaging experience for its patrons.
