Painted Wagon
The venue has a rich and diverse history, having operated under several names before becoming the Cellar until February 2015. It then transitioned into the Stage Door, a cabaret-style fringe theatre complete with a bistro and bar. In 2020, the premises underwent a significant change, dividing into two separate entities. The upstairs bar was renamed 'The Painted Wagon,' a nod to its original name when it first opened its doors in 1971. The Painted Wagon is designed to function as a sports bar. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, its opening was postponed until May 2021. Interestingly, the Stage Door and The Painted Wagon share the same contact number, leading to anticipation about how the two venues will operate in tandem.
