White Lion Hotel
The establishment in the photograph is a charming low-beamed black and white pub and hotel. The right section of the building, which originally served as a farmhouse, dates back to 1652. In contrast, the left portion of the building is a more modern addition, having been extended in 1970. Historical records, such as the 1836 Tithe map, refer to the property as a 'Homestead & Garden,' which was then occupied by Thomas Bourne. By 1870, the property was known as the White Lion Inn, as indicated on the OS map of that year. In recent years, specifically in October 2013, the building underwent significant internal refurbishment, enhancing its appeal and functionality.
