Hadley Hotel
The Hadley Hotel, a beloved local pub and inn managed by the same family for over a quarter of a century, underwent significant changes in recent years. In March 2019, the establishment was sold and subsequently transformed into a boutique hotel, reopening its doors later that same year. The revamped hotel now features a modern, sleek bar, marking a departure from its traditional pub roots. In a move that may disappoint some patrons, the hotel ceased the sale of Real Ale in 2022, and by February 2023, all handpumps were removed from the premises. Despite these changes, the Hadley Hotel retains its imposing, brick-built structure and portico entrance, nestled deep within a residential area and in close proximity to Hadley Woods. However, one notable loss during the refurbishment process was a striking mural that once graced the pub's walls. This artwork depicted the nearby Battle of Barnet, serving as a visual reminder of the area's rich history. Its absence is a poignant symbol of the transformation the Hadley Hotel has undergone, as it continues to adapt to the evolving tastes and preferences of its clientele.
