Foinavon
In 2019, the pub was renamed The Foinavon, in honor of the 1967 Grand National winner who was trained in the vicinity of the village of Compton. The pub boasts several expansive bar areas, one of which is adorned with a grand piano, adding a touch of elegance to the ambiance. In May 2023, The Foinavon reopened its doors under new management, bringing a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the establishment. There are future plans to revert to its original name, The Compton Swan, preserving the historical significance and local connection of the pub. The pub also features a large beer garden, perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors. It is equipped with an outdoor climbing frame, slide, and swings, making it a family-friendly destination. Additionally, a sheltered area near the main entrance provides a cozy space for patrons, complete with piped music, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for all visitors.
