Dockyard
Upon entering this simplistic, single-room establishment, one is immediately struck by the austere beauty of its bare brick walls. The interior layout is straightforward and functional, with bench seating and dining tables arranged primarily near the bar, which is conveniently located to the right of the entrance. Additional dining tables and a handful of comfortable chairs are strategically placed near the window, providing patrons with a prime view of the bustling street outside, including the frequent passage of buses. In May 2021, the establishment underwent a significant transformation, shedding its former Irish identity to become the Dockyard. The change was not merely cosmetic, but also reflected in the offerings of the bar. As of early 2022, the sale of cask ale was discontinued due to a lack of sufficient demand. Despite these changes, the Dockyard continues to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for its patrons.
