Magpie Inn
This traditional local pub, located just 2 miles from the city centre and near the football ground, offers the convenience of its own car park. It also boasts a bowling green at the back of the establishment for guests to enjoy. The pub is family-friendly, with children allowed in the lounge until 6:00 pm. In the summer of 2010, the pub underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, restoring it to its original design by Harry Redfern. The result is a stunning, authentic atmosphere that patrons are sure to appreciate. Please note, the pub was temporarily closed on June 29, 2013, but happily reopened its doors on January 31, 2016.
