Old Star

The establishment known today as "The Old Star" has a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Originally named "The Starr," the name was changed to "The Old Star" in the mid-19th century. This name was retained until 1969 when it was renamed "The Star Inn." However, in the 1990s, the establishment reverted to its previous name, "The Old Star." In 2009, the establishment was closed and put up for sale. Fortunately, it was purchased in 2010 by the current licensee and owner, Ernie Welch. Welch undertook a careful refurbishment of the property, successfully reopening it in May 2012. Today, "The Old Star" continues to serve its patrons, bearing a name that reflects its long-standing history.
