Thai Tiger
This establishment has a rich history, dating back to at least the 18th century, and has always maintained its ungentrified charm. The building itself is of Victorian architecture and has been under the ownership of several notable companies including Truman, Grand Met, S&N Retail, and Enterprise Inns up until 2011. Originally known as the Ship & Billet, the pub underwent a name change in 1989, becoming the Frog & Radiator until 2005. It was renamed twice more in 2011 and 2015 before it temporarily closed its doors in January 2017. However, the establishment was not to remain closed for long. It reopened in early 2018, reinventing itself as a bar and restaurant with a specialty in Thai cuisine. Despite its many transformations, one thing has remained constant: it does not serve real ale. This establishment's enduring presence and ability to adapt to changing times is a testament to its resilience and appeal.
