Tropic
Located near Doncaster Market Place, the building that was once the Old Volunteer Working Men's Club has seen a series of transformations over the years. In 2008, Marston's took over the premises and established it as the Reds Bar. By 2011, the establishment had evolved into the Garage, while still remaining under Marston's ownership. In 2014, the Chantry Brewery of Rotherham took the reins and rebranded the venue as the Flying Scotsman Tap. This name was a tribute to the iconic locomotive built in Doncaster's Plant Works in 1923, a piece of local history that was also commemorated with a mural in the bar. However, the Flying Scotsman Tap closed its doors in 2017. The building was then repurposed as a cocktail bar and underwent another name change, becoming known as Tropic. Throughout its history, this building has remained a vibrant part of the local community, adapting and evolving to meet changing tastes and trends.
