In March 2018, The Borough reopened its doors to the public following a significant refurbishment and exterior repainting. The central bar, which was once a key feature, has been replaced with a new one situated further back from the main entrance. As of the last visit in May 2019, the establishment features two handpulls, although no pump clips were observed. The Borough is conveniently located on a bustling corner, in close proximity to several bus stops and just a two-minute walk from the Park Lane Metro Interchange. Additionally, it is situated within the Bishopwearmouth Conservation Area. This strategic location makes it easily accessible for both locals and tourists alike.
