Chennells
The pub, a longstanding establishment in Barnsley, has successfully retained its original name throughout its history. In 2011, the pub underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, followed by another refresh in 2015. During the 2011 refurbishment, real ale was introduced to the menu, which quickly gained popularity among patrons. However, in the most recent refurbishment in 2021, the hand pumps used for serving this real ale were removed. The pub boasts a spacious layout, resembling a '?' shape, complemented by an 'L' shaped bar. This establishment is particularly bustling on market days, during both the afternoons and evenings. Despite the removal of the real ale, the pub continues to offer a variety of intriguing bottled beers, readily available in the fridge for customers to enjoy.
