Priory
Situated in the Market Place, near the 18th-century market cross, complete with its sundial and weather vane, is a prominent corner site that was once home to The Seven Stars Public House. This building, partially listed as Grade II, is constructed from Chevron dressed sandstone and has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when it served as a coaching inn. In July 2011, the building underwent a significant refurbishment and was reopened to the public. The new design features an open-plan interior, making it an ideal venue for various activities. Patrons can enjoy watching football on a large screen, indulge in delicious food, or engage in a friendly game of pool. However, in June 2013, the hand pump was removed due to a lack of demand. Despite this change, the establishment continues to be a popular spot, offering a unique blend of historical charm and modern amenities.
