Metropolitan Bar
The establishment, originally known as the Gate, was named after the turnpike gates that once blocked the two roads at the junction. In 1934, it underwent a significant renovation and was subsequently renamed when the Dorbiere Pub Co acquired it in 1999. This welcoming community pub caters to patrons of all ages and offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. The pub features a large, wood-panelled bar area, as well as a separate section equipped with a pool table and darts for those who enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Additionally, a jukebox is available for patrons' entertainment, with free usage from 5pm to 11pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The pub also prides itself on offering a diverse selection of guest beers, ensuring that there is something to suit every taste. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, the pub's inviting ambiance and wide range of beverages make it a popular choice for a relaxing evening out.
