Plough Inn

The site has been home to an inn for over three and a half centuries, with the existing former coaching inn dating back to approximately 1834. This is the same year the original Marston's brewery was established on Dover Road, not far from here. The inn's layout includes several small rooms and alcoves, all served by an L-shaped bar. The interior design features low beamed ceilings throughout, adding to the historical charm. The walls are adorned with a variety of vintage artefacts, further enhancing the inn's nostalgic ambiance. For those who enjoy reading, a book exchange is conveniently situated next to the bar. While the outdoor drinking space is somewhat limited, there is a cozy patio at the back of the inn for those who prefer to enjoy their drinks in the open air. The inn also occasionally hosts live entertainment, adding to the lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
