Pack Horse
The structure in question has a rich history that can be traced back to the 16th century, around the same period as the neighboring manor house. It is believed to have originally served as a series of almshouses. The building, constructed from stone, features a complex layout of interconnected small rooms. Remarkably, the original timber-framed roof has been preserved over the centuries. The rooms were initially heated and illuminated by inglenooks, with the most striking one being a prominent feature in the main bar. This historical structure, with its intricate design and preserved features, offers a unique glimpse into the architectural practices of the past.
