Lord Herbert
In December 2020, the Lord Herbert pub reopened under new management, following the retirement of its long-standing landlord, John Hanley. The pub, which now offers cask beer and food, has quickly gained recognition for its quality, earning the #14 spot on Time Out London's Best Pubs list in 2023. The Lord Herbert is named in honor of Sidney Herbert, the 1st Baron of Lea, who is also the namesake of the local area and the former military hospital on Shooters Hill, which has since been converted into luxury apartments.
