The Rising Sun Inn
Located just north of the city center, this charming two-bar pub exudes a unique, old-world allure, earning it the fitting description of a rural pub in an urban setting. The establishment, originally composed of three 18th-century cottages, was transformed into Harper's Ale House in 1814. Intriguingly, a portion of the pub served as a chapel of rest for the neighboring church during the Great War. The pub also features a covered, heated area specifically designed for smokers. Additionally, the third pump at the pub is dedicated to a constantly rotating selection of guest ales.
