Wheel Inn
The pub, which dates back to 1853, has been under the ownership of Samuel Smiths since 1921. In the summer of 2005, the establishment ceased using hand-pumps, although they were reintroduced for a period afterward. The pub's signage interestingly depicts a potter at his wheel, as opposed to a wheelwright. This is a nod to the village's old alternative name, Potovens. It's worth noting that there is another pub in the village, known as the New Wheel.
