The Old Boatshed
Established in 2016 and under new management since September 2018, this unique micro bar is housed in a building steeped in history. Originally constructed in 1881 as the town's lifeboat station, the bar has retained some of its original features, adding a touch of historical charm to its ambiance. The bar's layout is simple yet inviting, featuring a single rectangular room with the bar situated at the back right. Here, patrons can enjoy a variety of beverages including real ales, keg beers, wines, and ciders. The bar prides itself on maintaining a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, free from the distractions of loud music, televisions, or gaming machines. For those who prefer to enjoy their drinks outdoors, a comfortable raised seating area is available at the front of the bar. This welcoming establishment is family-friendly, with children and dogs being warmly welcomed. The bar also offers a rotating selection of four cask ales and a variety of boxed ciders, ensuring that there is always something new and exciting for patrons to try. This micro bar is not just a place to grab a drink, but a destination that offers a unique blend of history, charm, and a wide selection of beverages.
