The Square
The Square, formerly known as the Stone Loach Inn and originally Rigby's, is a two-story establishment that was previously an Indian restaurant. It underwent a significant renovation in 2012, which included a name change. The name was changed again in May 2016 to its current moniker. The interior features brick walls that are decorated with paintings and vintage photographs of the local area, adding a touch of nostalgia and charm. The Square offers a variety of entertainment options for its patrons. The ground floor houses a long bar, equipped with a dartboard, a television, and a jukebox for music lovers. There is also a separate room dedicated to pool table enthusiasts. The upper floor is home to a wine bar, providing a more sophisticated ambiance for those who prefer a quieter setting. In addition to its drink offerings, The Square also serves lunch and dinner, making it a convenient spot for both casual dining and evening entertainment. During the time of our visit, they had one type of real ale, Pride, available for the beer aficionados. In summary, The Square is a versatile venue that caters to a wide range of tastes, from those seeking a lively bar atmosphere to those preferring a more relaxed wine bar experience. Its rich history, diverse entertainment options, and food offerings make it a unique spot in the area.
