The Ainsty
The pub, designed in a roadhouse style, was constructed in 1930 by York brewer J J Hunt. The establishment was initially intended to cater to the traffic of a proposed ring road, which unfortunately never came to fruition. Despite this, the pub has since been opened up for business. While the layout has been altered to create a more open space, certain areas still maintain remnants of the original individual rooms. This design choice provides a degree of privacy for patrons, offering a unique and comfortable drinking experience.
