The Lazy Landlord
In 2014, the Henry brothers, passionate about cask ale, launched Wirral's inaugural micropub, transforming a former shop into a cozy, welcoming space. The pub, which features two intimate rooms, is adorned with breweriana, local artwork, and a modest library, all of which add to its unique charm. The front bar serves these rooms, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The micropub primarily attracts a sophisticated, mature local clientele who appreciate its distinctive character. It also serves as a popular meeting spot for various local societies, further cementing its status as a community hub. The local CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) has recognized the pub's excellence and contribution to the local community multiple times. It was awarded the prestigious title of Local CAMRA Pub of the Year consecutively in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2022, it was a close runner-up for the same award. The following year, in 2023, it received the Pub of Excellence Award, a testament to its consistent quality and service.
