Alma Inn
The Alma is a semi-detached pub that currently shares its premises with an Indian restaurant. The establishment's name is a historical reference to the Battle of Alma, which took place in 1854 and marked the first victory of the Anglo-French forces in the Crimean War. This particular area of Melbourne, where the pub is located, began its development around 1856. The pub's car park has a rich history of its own, as it was once the site of Dallman's Brewery. This brewery was later acquired by John Hair and his sons, who were also residents of Melbourne.
