Star Inn
This 17th-century inn, with its Grade II-listed Cotswold-stone exterior, may seem steeped in history, but step inside and you'll find a thoroughly modernised and updated interior. The establishment has recently undergone extensive renovations, including the installation of state-of-the-art toilets, which were inaugurated by the local Member of Parliament. The bar area is a charming blend of old and new, featuring a large inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove, slate floors, and two oak drinking counters that divide the space. Despite the modern updates, the inn has retained its traditional charm and character. Throughout the week, the inn offers up to four different beers, with the selection varying depending on the day. The beers are sourced from renowned breweries such as Bath, Cottage, Moles, and Otter, and are served from a stillage located directly behind the bar. In terms of entertainment, the inn's television primarily broadcasts rugby matches, making it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. Despite its modern updates, the inn remains a cosy and welcoming establishment that seamlessly blends its historical roots with contemporary comforts.
