Saddlers
Established in 1979, the George Saddler pub is named after its original proprietor. It was initially a freehouse, one of only two in the town, primarily serving beers from the Wem Brewery. From 1987 to 1994, the pub was managed by Ken Mulhearn, a renowned goalkeeper for Shrewsbury Town in the 1970s. The pub is a community hub, supporting approximately 10 local teams and annually raising substantial funds for the Severn Hospice.
