The George
Located at the end of Station Road in Yate, a former high street shop underwent a transformation in 1997 from a Woolworth's store into a popular local establishment. This venue has undergone several name changes over the years. In December 2014, after a significant refurbishment, it was renamed as 'The Harrow'. The establishment underwent another name change in November 2019, and is now known as 'The George'. Unfortunately, the latest renovation resulted in the removal of the upstairs seating area and pool tables. However, the venue now boasts numerous TV screens for patrons' entertainment, including four screens conveniently located in individual booths. In addition to the changes in the physical space, 'The George' also offers a themed daily menu to its customers. For instance, every Wednesday, patrons can enjoy a pie and a pint for just £4.99. This establishment continues to evolve, offering a unique blend of history and modern amenities to its patrons.
