Plough Inn
The site has been home to a pub since approximately 1360, with the existing timber-framed structure thought to have been built around 1650. This historic building is recognized as a Grade II listed property. The interior of the pub, while featuring exposed wooden beams and low ceilings that hint at its rich history, has a surprisingly modern feel, thanks in part to the numerous horse brasses on display. Despite its age, the pub has been updated to include a mostly covered garden at the back. Interestingly, the primary entrance to the pub is through this garden, rather than the original front door. This blend of old and new, history and modernity, makes the pub a unique and charming destination.
