Ye Olde Poppe Inn
The Ye Olde Poppe Inn holds the distinction of being one of the county's most historic establishments, with records dating back to 1792 when it was known as Culverhay. The inn's unique name is steeped in local lore, believed to have originated from the practice of Parrock Lodge's servants discreetly visiting the inn for a drink through the back entrance, unbeknownst to their employer. The inn's interior is divided into two distinct areas: a straightforward public bar and a cozy lounge area. The lounge is characterized by a large fireplace, housing a wood-burning stove that serves as a charming partition between the lounge and the dining area.
