The Village Inn

Established in the 16th century as a farmhouse, this charming, historic pub is the birthplace of the Thurlestone Hotel. The Grose family has proudly owned and maintained it since 1897. The interior design features wooden screens and walls decorated with vintage photographs of the surrounding area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ceiling is a particular point of interest, boasting curved black timber beams. These beams are believed to have originated from the Armada hospital ship, San Pedro El Mayo, which tragically wrecked near Hope Cove in 1588. The pub may also offer takeaway services for the convenience of its patrons.
