The Rose & Woodbine
The establishment, currently known as a community pub, has a rich history, having initially been a butcher's shop before being acquired by the Northampton Brewing Company. This pub is not just a place to enjoy a pint, but also serves as the local hub for two pigeon racing clubs. However, patrons who prefer not to mingle with the pigeons can relax in the separate bar and lounge areas, which are kept pigeon-free. The pub offers lunchtime meals from 12:30 to 6:00pm, but please note that this service is only available from Tuesday to Saturday. Among the various offerings, the pub is particularly celebrated for its steak and egg meals, which are not only delicious but also offer excellent value for money. This community pub, therefore, is not just a place to enjoy a drink, but also a venue to enjoy good food, engage in traditional pub games, and even partake in the local culture of pigeon racing.
