Rawdon Arms
Previously known as the Woodman, the pub has now returned to its original name, the Rawdon Arms, in honor of the local mine that ceased operations in the 1980s. The establishment features a spacious L-shaped single room that offers comfortable seating for patrons. The walls of the pub are adorned with a collection of commemorative plates, each one illustrating local coal mines, with the final one shutting down in 1990. In recognition of its significant improvements, the Rawdon Arms was awarded the title of Most Improved Pub in 2004 by the local CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).
