Miners Arms
Located at an elevation of 1,500 feet in the Pennines, this pub holds the distinction of being the highest village pub in the country. It serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding area. Cyclists undertaking the Coast to Coast route will find this pub to be an official stamping post. During the summer months, from May to September, the pub operates from 12 noon to 11 pm daily, offering a lunchtime food menu for patrons. Please note that there is a pending planning application (22/0867) to convert the pub into a dwelling. The application was submitted on 11th November 2022, and the consultation period concluded on 14th December 2022. The decision on this application is currently awaited.
