The Armoury Inn
The Armoury, a pub located just outside the town centre, derives its name from its historical function as the arms repository for the 16th (Yeovil) Rifle Volunteer Corps. It is believed that the cellar was used to store powder and ammunition. In the early 1980s, the building was repurposed into a licensed establishment, retaining its historical name. The Armoury is a popular social hub, often bustling with activity. It is home to pool, darts, and skittle teams, and also attracts a large number of football and rugby enthusiasts, thanks to its subscription to Sky Sports. The pub is equipped with two large screens and three televisions to ensure an optimal viewing experience for all patrons. In addition to its vibrant sports culture, The Armoury is also known for its selection of beverages. It offers up to four types of real ales and even a real cider, catering to a variety of tastes. The combination of its rich history, lively atmosphere, and diverse drink menu makes The Armoury a unique and cherished establishment in the community.
