The Anchor Inn
The building that houses the pub has a rich history dating back to the 16th century, although it has only been serving as a pub since 1806. It was a Courage house until 2007, when it was acquired by the Miller's Collection, who undertook extensive refurbishments. Since early 2023, the pub has been under the ownership of Butcombe Brewery. They have transformed the snug bar into a showcase for their cask beers. The pub has a unique charm, with a low ceiling in the restaurant area and a covered well situated in the middle of the floor. The pub is conveniently located on the St. Swithun's Way recreational path, making it a perfect stop for those enjoying the trail.
